The 6pm show on 22nd December will be captioned

There will be a screen on the stage right side of the stage showing the words spoken by the actors. Every seat on the plan for this performance has an (i). If you hover you’ll see that this tells you whether the seat does or does not have a view of the caption unit. Generally front on seats on the left hand side of the auditorium have a good view of the unit.

The 2pm shows on 22nd December and 4th January will be Relaxed Performances

A relaxed performance is where the ambience of the auditorium and theatre ‘rules’ are relaxed. These performances are ideal for people with learning disabilities or autism, or anyone who would benefit from a more relaxed environment. The director and the actors and technical team on the show will also have thought carefully about what might need to change in the show so that people’s needs have been considered. For instance, very loud noises or music might be turned down or specific movements or lines might be adapted slightly.

There will be a touch tour before the 2pm show on 16th December

A member of our team will be hosting a tour of the set, props and costume.  The aim is to provide context about the show and to allow blind and partially sighted members of the audience to familiarise themselves with the design of the space, costumes and props ahead of the show itself.

The evening shows on the 3rd and 5th January are ‘adults only’

These shows are designated as being for grown ups. The show itself won’t change substantially, we’ll just give our actors license to be a bit more free with their ad-libs! Plus adults can book knowing that the majority of the rest of the audience will also be grown-ups. If you have an older child you’re happy to bring along please do, but we won’t be expecting any tiny ones.

What is the age guidance?
The show is recommended for children aged 7+. Younger children may well enjoy the spectacle and will certainly love the songs and dancing, the running time is around 2 hours including the interval. Due to the nature of the story there will be ghosts, loud bangs and sudden lighting effects that might be too much for younger children. Of course we’ll welcome younger children as part of a family trip, but the show has not been designed with pre-school children in mind.

Do you offer disabled concessions?
Disabled and companion tickets are £10. If you’d like more advice on where to sit you can check out our access information, or give the Box Office a call on 01865 766266. These tickets can’t be booked online.

Is the show wheelchair accessible?
Yes, there are spaces held for wheelchair users at each performance. The seats are on the aisle on row E, indicated on the seating plan by an image of a wheelchair and C for companion. Disabled tickets are £10 along with £10 companion tickets.

How long will it last?
The running time is 2 hours, which includes a 20 minute interval.
