With the Bank Holiday weekend coming up, we’ve found out the best things on across Oxfordshire for everyone to enjoy.
Make the most of the Bank Holiday at Blenheim Palace; the beautiful house and gardens are wonderful at any time, but this weekend there’s a whole range of activities for the whole family to enjoy.
If you fancy a break from the egg-themed activities, why not Spring into Science with Museum of Oxford? They’re teaming up with the brilliant team at Science Oxford to host a day full of workshops which explore the science within Spring. Ages: 4 to 9
No trip to Oxford is complete without a museum visit (or two, or three). The Natural History Museum is always a brilliant afternoon out for families – from dinosaurs to a working beehive, there’s so much to see and learn about.
If art is more your thing, then head to the Ashmolean Museum’s latest exhibition on America’s Cool Modernism – as the title suggests, it’s very, very, very cool.
Do the shop-bought chocolate eggs leave you uninspired? Decorate your own egg at Oxford Castle Unlocked; they’ve got a whole range of family activities on right in the city centre.
If you’re after a grown-ups only Easter egg hunt, head to the Westgate Centre; the team at the super trendy bar The Alchemist have hidden some hipflasks around and if you find one, you’ll win a free cocktail.
Pack some bread for the ducks and head to the beautiful University Parks to walk off the Easter chocolate.
And how to round off a weekend in Oxford? Well, there’s one thing you’ve missed out – a trip to a Creation show. Book your tickets for Monday night’s performance of Dracula; staged in Blackwell’s Bookshop, it’s one not to be missed.
