30 November 2019 – 5 January 2020, The North Wall Arts Centre
“I can give her no greater power than she already has”
A hedgehog, a wizard and a pair of unhelpful crows joined Gerda on her journey to find her best friend, Kai. For the first time in Creation history, a live musician provided the soundscape for our adventure to the wastes of Lapland to the Snow Queen’s lair.
“Perhaps Creation Theatre’s greatest strength here is to pull together a show which will genuinely appeal to anyone who has a little warmth in their heart – from young kids to adults. This is a proper Christmas tale: silly and serious, light-hearted and dark, funny… but deliciously chilling! 5/5” Tim Hughes, Oxford Times
“Creation Theatre’s visually and aurally stunning traverse-style production […] grips the audience from the outset. […] the results are, as ever, unsettlingly brilliant.” Jon Lewis, Newbury Weekly News
“The costumes were fab-u-lous and the Snow Queen had such a long cape that it nearly covered the whole stage.” Hannah Lewis (age 8), Newbury Weekly News
“A story about how people can change, how goodness is subjective, and how we can’t expect everything to be perfect…a strong Creation cast move us swiftly through 120 minutes of adventure, tunes and fun.” Sam Bennett, OX Mag
“Weird and wild maybe, but in Creation’s capable hands, always wonderful.” Katherine MacAlister, Ox in a Box
“All of the encounters are ingenious and the writing shines… I have no hesitation in recommending it to you all.” Daily Info
