17 October to 2 November at The Bodleian Library, Oxford
6 – 24 November at Omnibus Theatre, Clapham London
Creation’s first ever performance at Oxford’s Bodleian Library, which then headed to London for a three week run at Omnibus Theatre. Using innovative sound design and with the whole audience wearing headphones, this production re-told Poe’s gothic horror through the lens of the modern day middle east.
Reviews
“Of course, Dehrouyeh’s character recognises the words of the original story for she is a literary scholar as well as a freedom fighter: “no, please, I can chronicle myself!” This production, therefore, interacts with its source material in a way that fresh, imaginative and frequently funny despite its bleak setting.” A Younger Theatre
“The Pit and The Pendulum by Creation Theatre is a highly original, interesting and thoughtful piece. It is well worth seeing and thinking about” Daily Info
