MAGDALEN COLLEGE SCHOOL GROUNDS
Reviews
“Hilarious, pacy and exciting, this production will keep you engrossed. You will not see a better Dream, or a funnier Shakespeare production, than this for many, many moons.”
The Oxford Times
“Illusion and fantasy have been delightfully woven into an enchanting production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream for this season’s offering from Creation Theatre Company.
Back once again in their usual summer venue in the grounds of Magdalen College School, the Athenian forest setting of the play finds a perfect pitch nestling on the banks of the Cherwell. It’s an excellent venue for this classic garden show, which is always so much the better for being staged outdoors.
The young cast work extremely well as an ensemble – both mentally and physically. This is essential, as, in addition to the challenge of delivering some of the bard’s most beautiful speeches, the production is also full of exciting stunts. Indeed tumbling, stilt-walking, and rope swinging all play a major part in this colourful show.”
