Lucy, Charlie and Anais headed off to Brighton last weekend to take the air and fill their boots with amazing fringe theatre. Considerably closer than Edinburgh and falling conveniently outside our show schedule Brighton is the perfect place for us to do a spot of theatrical exploring.
Five shows in two days was a demanding schedule but we made it through with ice cream, fish and chips and rock. Top 3 moments:
1. A man, balancing on the shoulders of another man, balancing on two boxes of eggs, balancing on a table, balancing on four wine bottles… in a spiegeltent. (that’s Casus Circus by the way)
2. Getting to grips with the technology used for a promenade piece with audio soundtrack, watch this space for future Creation plans. (courtesy of Rich Mix)
3. Exquisite use of a looper pedal to create a full soundscape, while two soldiers fall in love with a ballerina. (this one’s The Little Soldiers)
If you’d like a bit of Fringe action yourself fear not, although Brighton has wrapped up for this year Oxford Fringe is in full swing until 8 June.
