Our venue

The Mathematical Institute

For our latest show we’ll be using the cafeteria, corridors and seminar rooms of Oxford University’s Mathematical Institute. Located in the newly redeveloped Observatory Quarter between the Woodstock Road and Jericho areas of the city centre, the Maths Institute is close the the bars and restaurants of Jericho, and only a 20 minute walk from the Train Station.

The building

The Andrew Wiles building was opened in 2013 to bring together the members of Oxford University’s Mathematical Institute. It won an award from the Royal Institute of British Architects on its completion and they commented “the geometry and layout is complex and eccentric in its historic setting. An interesting atrium floods the space with daylight whilst linking galleries and offices with walkways.” This is the space we’ll be using for our performance, but we can’t tell you anything more.
