Creation Theatre Company runs workshops and educational activities for children and young adults ranging from days of stage combat and magic to a full week of devising and performing a production.

We can also offer the opportunity for schools, colleges, groups and individuals to book professional theatre workshops tailored according to their needs.

Put on a Play in a Week £145 9-12 years
18th-22nd August – Headington - venue tbc
10am-4pm
Learn sophisticated drama techniques, make new friends and put on a show in this fun filled workshop.

Aspiring thespians will relish the opportunity to create and star in their own show. “Put on a Play” is great for building confidence, inspiring creativity and giving your child a memorable summer holiday.


Put on a Play in Four Days £118 9-12 years
26th-29th August – Summertown – St Michaels Parish
10am-4pm

Children will design posters to advertise the show, decorate masks, design costumes and star in a show of their own devising. “Put on a play” is great for building confidence, inspiring creativity and developing concentration, ultimately giving your child a memorable summer holiday.

Also an optional storytelling workshop is available on selected nights at a small additional cost. These sessions will last an hour and gives children the opportunity to wind down, relax and stretch their imagination whilst remaining in the same venue.

Animal Farm £64 12-15 years
29 - 30 July

Explore issues of tyranny, power and freedom through drama games and activities. Inhabit the world of George Orwell’s classic story working in role and devising a short performance inspired by the story and its themes.

This two day workshop will give students theatrical skills, confidence in their own abilities and a greater understanding of the stories issues and historical context.


Put on a Shakespeare Play in a Week £145 9-12 years

28th July-1st August – Summertown – St Michaels Parish 10am-4pm
11th-15th August – Oxford – venue tbc 10am-4pm

Give your child a truly unique and challenging experience this summer as they follow in the footsteps of the worlds greatest actors and star in their own version of one of Shakespeare’s well known plays.

This workshops will give them an in depth knowledge of the play, a love of Shakespeare’s language and imagery, and a sense of pride in their own achievements.

Music, Theatre and Dance £36 6-8 years

20th August – Summertown – St Michaels Parish 10am-3pm

Working with a theatre and dance professional children will devise a short performance inspired by well known pieces of classical music. If your child loves music, dancing and creating their own imaginative worlds then this is the workshop for them.


Midsummer Magic £64 9-12 years

7th-8th August – Headington - venue tbc 10am-4pm
18th-19th August – Oxford – venue tbc 10am-4pm

A memorable, magic and mischievous two day workshop. Midsummer Magic will introduce children to A Midsummer’s Night Dream through games, improvisation and performing their own versions of key scenes.

This workshop will teach children skills in acting and comedy and they may even come home with a little of the fairies magic.

Theatre Master Class £94 12-15 years

4th-6th August – Headington – Methodist Church Hall 10am-4pm
20th-22nd August – Oxford – Oxford Community School 10am-4pm

In this three day workshop gain experience in a range of different theatre disciplines – acting, directing, stage management, set design and more. On the last day students will work towards putting on a short performance allowing them to apply and practice the skills they have learnt.

Whether you are an aspiring actor, an artist or just generally love the theatre this workshop is guaranteed to teach you something new and give an inspiring insight into what makes a fantastic show.

 

Fairy School £94 5-7 years

4-6 August / 20 - 22 August Headington - venue tbc 10am-3pm
20th-22nd August – Oxford – venue tbc 10am-3pm

Titania is looking for new recruits to join her troop of fairies. Enter the enchanted forest as a student at fairy school and learn how to flutter your wings, hitch a ride on a robin and leap across the lily pads.

This three day workshop will include a wide range of drama games and activities, craft projects, and storytelling skills. Children will gain confidence, develop listening and concentration skills and have an imaginative journey into the world of the Midsummer Night Dream fairies.


Scholarship places available.
