Cast

We are currently looking to fill the following roles for our forthcoming Christmas production of Rapunzel or the Magic Pig

Mother Gothel

Rapunzel’s stepmother and a talented herbalist who loves Rapunzel with a clawing kind of love. A character who we are both appalled and thrilled by – a cross between a panto dame and a proper dark witch. This is a Christmas show but not a panto and Mother Gothel has a very dark edge to her that emerges through the show. Looking for a male, playing age 35+ with great comedic and characterisation skills. Energetic and creative in approach to the role. We are not looking for a panto dame but previous experience in this area is desirable as good impro skills and ability to play with the audience is essential, entertaining and corralling in equal turns.

Patrizio

Classic prince role with a twist. Looking for a young male, playing age early to late 20s with lots of character and strong singing voice. We are looking for someone who will understand the comedic potential in this role so we need an actor with great character invention. Ability to play guitar/mandolin or similar instrument is desirable.

We start rehearsals from the 1 November 2010 and the run starts on Friday 26 November 2010 and finishes on Saturday 15 January 2011.

For more information or to submit your CV please email Katie Catling at admin@creationtheatre.co.uk with the subject line ‘Rapunzel’.

Internships and Volunteering

Volunteers

We are always looking for Volunteer front of house stewards.

As part of the team you can:

  • Meet new people who love theatre as much as you
  • Enhance your CV with professional experience
  • Gain a greater understanding of the theatre industry
  • Be part of the magic!
  • Be given full training for the role
  • See the show
  • Have fun!

As a registered charity with no core funding, the Front of House volunteers help us to survive and make our spectacular shows in stunning locations a possibility. Our volunteers help assist the Front of House team in ensuring shows run smoothly by welcoming our audience, ushering, selling merchandise and programmes, assisting the catering team, watching the show while being in radio contact with the Front of House Manager and other ad hoc duties as required.

“Being part of the team during Arabian Nights last year was really rewarding, and so much fun! I won’t forget my experience with Creation.”
Rebecca, Creation volunteer at Arabian Nights.

There are other unpaid but rewarding opportunities alongside working on site, including being a Workshop Assistant on our exciting Drama Workshops.

We are also looking for Ambassadors of Creation to spread the word about Creation’s shows by giving leaflets and posters to places in your local area, or helping us with our mailings over tea and biscuits! Come and meet us and help make each show the best it can be.

To apply email creationtheatrefoh@live.co.uk with your contact details, availability for the forthcoming season (check the Performance Schedule page for dates), why you would like to be a volunteer and any knowledge you may have of Creation Theatre Company.

We look forward to welcoming you onto the team!
