About Us

David Parrish

David Parrish
Producer and Artistic Director

David studied business at the University of Salford. He joined Barclays Bank as a graduate and worked mainly in corporate relationship and risk management. Deciding that he did not want to spend 40 years in banking, he resigned and went to Birmingham School of Speech and Drama.

David's first experience as a producer was during a drama school vacation when he produced Sartre's Huis Clos. After drama school he spent a summer in Oxford and realised that there was a demand for high quality open-air theatre. Creation Theatre Company was formed. The bursar of Magdalen College School agreed to provide an outstanding location.

After five summers David and Creation took on the challenge of the first winter project, Hamlet, at BMW Group Plant Oxford in early 2001.

Deciding to put his acting career on a back burner, he is currently concentrating on producing other projects, but intends to return to the stage when the time is right. David also runs another company, Oxford Role Play, which specialises in providing actors as business resources for corporate clients.

David is married to Ida-Eline and has a daughter, Sunniva.
