Creation Theatre Company’s Education Department is dedicated to releasing children’s creativity by passionately sharing stories from Shakespeare and classic children’s literature. We are looking for committed and talented actors to join our expanding team of freelance drama workshop leaders and assistants.

At Creation we work with children aged between 5 – 16 years to create performances which evolve from the children’s own ideas, utilising many of the techniques and skills of the professional actor. We currently run 7 weekly drama clubs across Oxford as well as an extensive programme of holiday workshops and bespoke courses for schools and other children’s organisations, including work with vulnerable and challenging young people in partnership with the Youth Offending Service. Our expansion rate is such that we are currently recruiting for several placements.

Freelance Drama Workshop Leaders/Assistants

Creation Theatre Company Education Department is seeking talented and experienced freelance Workshop Leaders in the Oxfordshire area to add to our database. Can you help children to gain confidence, develop social skills and harness their imaginations to produce visually exciting performances and demonstrations?

It is essential that candidates are experienced in working with children and young people in a drama/education setting, are passionate about working with young people and have a current enhanced CRB disclosure (issued within the last 12 months). Desirable criteria are a full driving licence, access to your own vehicle and up to date First Aid training.

Dates: We have regular work throughout the year

Drama Club – Volunteer Stage Manager

Are you looking for work experience in Stage Management?

Do you want to get hands-on and creative?

Are you 16-18 years old?

Then Creation Drama Club wants you! We are always busy at Drama Club and we need an enthusiastic person to help with creative staging ideas, lights, sound and anything else technically amazing!

Our shows will be performed at the end of the 10 week term and are a great opportunity to gain valuable experience. This is a voluntary position which would suit anyone interested in pursuing a career behind the scenes.

At Creation we have a small, focused, motivated Marketing team. We like to think creatively and are disappointed if we do things just because that’s the way they’ve always been done. We make print that is as visually exciting as our shows. We write copy that expresses our personality. We create publicity for our shows that enriches cultural life in Oxford…and we also tweet about cake quite a lot.
